Re: Last movie you watched
It seems like a lot of movies on here get a 9/10 or 10/10 rating. So are we saying that these movies are on par with movies such as The Godfather, Forrest Gump , Saving Private Ryan, Casablanca, It's a Wonderful Life, etc? Yes i understand that there are different types of movies and that JackA$$ getting a 10/10 shouldn't be compared to those, but seriously some of these movies would love to have critics like us.
Re: Last movie you watched
alright.. let me do another review of School for Scoundrels..
it's the same Billy Bob Thorton movie over and over again.. he's a jerk towards some nice guy or something. Throws out a few GD's like always. So if you like Thorton you'll like the movie... John Heder.. a good performance, i like him better as somebody, other than a Napoleon Dynamite type character. It was funny, then it was lame... Ben Stiller added a little humor, but not much.... so it gets a 7/10 for the 2 main actors, and a few funny scenese..
Re: Last movie you watched
Watched Black Dahlia this weekend......convouluted plot and really long story line...really hard to get a grip on until the last 10 mins of the movie
7.5/10
Re: Last movie you watched
I watched Black Dahlia as well, I liked it a lot up until the last 20 minutes or so. It was sorta disapointing/unpredictable in a predictable way if that makes sense. Like you can pretty much guess who has something to do with the murder, just from a simple scene they add into the movie they had nothing to do with anything else at that point, you just didnt know what that character had to do with it or how they were involved until the end. I also didnt care for Josh Harnett's performance. He can be a good actor, but he wasnt in this movie.
6/10
Re: Last movie you watched
Oh yeah I agree with you on that....I understand that they were trying to reach back to the nostalgic times of the early and middle 40's, but that got old when all you heard was hartnett mumbling and being as see through as a wet t-shirt.
Re: Last movie you watched
Yeah, I loved the feel of the movie. It certainly did capture that time. Though a better movie that does the same thing is L.A. Confidential which I watched again recently. Cant get enough of it. I give it 9.5/10.
Re: Last movie you watched
I finally watched Walk the Line last night and i personally didnt think it was as good as people said it was. I guess it just wasnt my type of a movie. 7/10
Re: Last movie you watched
"Departed" starring DiCrappio , Mutt Damon and Jack Nicholson who outshined and overshadowed them both . I'm not a big fan of DiCrappio or Damon but they did deliver good performances . This is a really good movie and Nicholson was fantastic as a crazy , eyebrow-raising , Irish mafia boss . Scorcese directed this movie so you are guaranteed bloodshed . The last 10 minutes rocked , the only drawback is this movie is 2 1/2 hrs long . Thats a long time in theatre chairs boys and girls but worth it .

If you didn't like it, why give it a score of 7/10?
You people and your rating system makes me thank my lucky stars for Ebert and Roper.
If you don't like a film, give it less than 5. Or rate it on a system of 4 stars. 1 star for a bad film, 2 stars for a somewhat bad film, 3 stars for a decent film, and 4 stars for an excellent film.
